Fourth-highest IA or IM general officer rank (O-9), equivalent to IN Vice Admiral (VA) or civil officer Governor, senior to Major General (MG) and junior to General (GEN).


A Lieutenant General is typically the commander of a maneuver division or Division (DIV).
