Fourth-highest IN commissioned officer flag rank, pay grade O-9, equivalent to IA or IM Lieutenant General (LG) or civil officer Governor, senior to Rear Admiral (RA) and junior to Admiral (ADM).


A Vice Admiral is typically the commander of an IN Area Command (ACOM).
